ICED2014 takes place in Stockholm next 15-18 June and the call for papers is open here. 

The Journal of Learning Development in Higher Education is seeking papers for December 2013 with a deadline of 15 August 2013. Here is the current issue and the link to register as an author. 

AGM and Book launch update July 2013

Thank you for attending both the AGM and the book launch on Thursday June 20th 2013 at NUI Maynooth. The AGM reviewed the year and commended the Chair and Committee on the main work for 2012-2013 the development and publication of Emerging Issues III. The 2013-2014 Officers and Committee of EDIN were elected and are here. 

Emerging Issues III was launched by the Secretary General of the Department of Education and Skills Seán Ó Foghlú who complimented EDIN on the publication. Emerging Issues III has 15 articles by EDIN members with comments and responses by international experts in educational development. Articles are grouped by themes such as collaboration as a way forward, supporting academic development, using technology to enhance teaching and learning and finally emerging approaches and pedagogies. Congratulations to all the authors on the articles. EDIN thanks Alison Farrell and Ciara O'Farrell for their commitment and work as editors in bringing the original proposal to publication. Finally thanks to Nuala Harding EDIN Chair 2011-2013 for managing the project. Emerging Issues III is available as an ebook here. 

Members may be interested in the Higher Education Empirical Research Database HEER. It has been set up by the QAA in England to inform policy and practice and is free to register.
