EDIN is delighted to
announce a workshop facilitated by Prof Rowena Murray on Friday
29th January 2016 on Writing for Publication.
This event will be of particular interest to any member of staff currently
preparing a publication for a journal or book, or perhaps developing reports or
other writing into research publications.
To get the most from this event, participants need
to be present for the duration of the full session. Please bring your laptop, tablet or preferred
media to write with on the day. Please also note that while we can provide
tea/coffee, lunch will not be provided at this event. The event is free but participation is limited to 25 people.
Further details:
This will be a practical workshop,
involving writing activities and discussions of these activities and of our
writing projects. Writing strategies we will cover include targeting journals,
analysing published articles, generative writing, outlining, writing abstracts,
dealing with peer review, making time to write and writing groups, micro-groups
and retreats. Participants are encouraged to use laptops during the workshop –
if you have one – although it is not essential to do so. All the writing
activities in this workshop are intended to help participants develop their journal
articles.
To get the most from this event,
participants need to be present for the duration of the full session. Please
note that while we can provide tea/coffee, lunch will not be provided. A range
of options for lunch is available on Aungier Street, Kevin Street and Camden
Street close to the venue.
